HI, I'M GRETCHEN.

A non diet Personal Trainer, Kettlebell expert, Diet Culture Dropout, and Certified Intuitive Eating Facilitator.

I've been in the business of fitness for over 18 years, and can safely say that if you aren't moving in a way that is both safe and enjoyable, you won't stick with it.  My goal is to provide you with a safe and challenging workout that focuses on building strength and moving better in your body- a non diet, non aesthetics focused system of training.

Starting in April of 2020, all of my offerings will be exclusively online.

TRAIN WITH ME

Moving better for the long haul.

The Collaborative is a non diet fitness and health membership that includes weekly kettlebell (or dumbbell if that's what you got) workouts and bodyweight mobility sessions. Coaching and support from me, as well as a private online community that lives on this page (not on FB). A safe space for people who are done with diet rules and measuring success by the scale- but also want to get strong to make their lives outside the gym the best they can be.

WHAT YOU'RE SAYING

Julie F.

Gretchen's methodical and layered approach, combined with her technical expertise and this-should-be-enjoyable-and-sustainable attitude have been key to my progress and consistency.

Kelly C.

Gretchen understands and respects the process, the fear of pain, the questions of motivation, to a degreee I've not experienced before in personal coaching and she works with you where you are.

Terrance McDonald

Gretchen is one of the best teachers I’ve ever met in any context. She is thoroughly professional, deeply knowledgeable, growing in her own knowledge, motivating, engaged, caring.

MY COMMITMENT TO BEING AN EQUITABLE AND ANTI-RACIST BUSINESS

I do not accept the egregious and discriminatory treatment of people based on their skin color, gender identification, sexual preference, ethnicity, religion, and socioeconomic status in this country. Understanding what the BIPOC community endures daily- and acknowledging not only my privilege but my role in the systemic nature of oppression- is at the forefront of my learning and unlearning. This is true both professionally and personally. As the sole creator and owner of Coach Gretchen Meyers Fitness, I commit to doing my part to provide an equitable, safe, and anti-racist coaching business. I will not tolerate racism of any kind from potential future employees. I will not tolerate racism from clients. I reserve the right to terminate any training relationship- either in a one on one setting or in a group- if I feel that said client is acting in way that goes against these values.

On my social media pages, I will speak up for racial injustice and talk about the role of white supremacy, especially as it relates to both health and fitness. I may not get it right all the time, and will accept when I'm called out/in. I won't be defensive, and I WILL listen. I will let uncomfortable conversations unfold and be open to working through them. But I will NOT allow hate speech or straight trolling-those comments will be deleted.

For myself, I commit to ongoing anti-racist education- through both my own reading and purchasing courses created by black activists. If/when I hire future employees, this will be a quarterly requirement. As my company grows, I commit to spending a portion of business dollars on black owned businesses- through needed tech services, continuing education in fitness, and the like. I commit to these things on an ongoing basis, and look forward to learning more ways that I can make the change that is so desperately needed in the world.

In good health and equality for all,

 Gretchen
